Triumph Tina Engine Strip

My Triumph Tina 100cc lump

With the compact engine out of the chassis remove the four head nuts then the head.

The piston is seized solid but with a load of tapping and grunting I have the barrel off and piston out.

Now to change the main bearings and seals mmm. Lets see how easy they are to get hold of.

Only two bolts to undo.

It starts to come apart easy.

Magneto side came of easily but not the drive.

grrrr

Time to  remove bearings and seals from the crank cases.

The drive side bearing was straight forward warm the case and tap out the bearing.

To remove the bearing from the Magneto side I had used a 15mm socket and extension.

Again I used a hot air gun to expand the casing then drove out the bearing.

Shim, bearing, oil seal and spacer make up the drive side components.

Shim, oil seal bearing, make up the magneto side components : note the seal goes in first then bearing.

Now to order new oil seals and bearings.

Bearings are SKF 6204 Inside dia 20mm Outside dia 47mm and width 14mm. Open type
the oil Seals I have been told via the forum http://triumphscooters.co.uk/
are 20 x 35 x 7 R23, i ordered these from http://www.bearingboys.co.uk/ and recived two days later.

pics to come of the rebuild.
